Mirror Lake Express Returning Home to the Jeppa Danielson Family
Camrose, Alberta — May 5, 2026
With deep respect and appreciation for its history, the Camrose & District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announces that the Mirror Lake Express will be returning to the Jeppa Danielson family.
Following the previously announced decision to cease operations, the Board carefully considered the most meaningful and respectful path forward. Through that process, it became clear that the story of the Mirror Lake Express begins with the Danielson family and it is only fitting that it returns home.
Originally built by the late Jeppa Danielson, the train is far more than an attraction. It represents a legacy of craftsmanship, community spirit, and shared experience. For nearly twenty years, the Chamber has been honoured to serve as caretaker of the train, a responsibility that has always been taken seriously.
This moment is not an ending; it is a return. A return to roots. A return to family. A return to the hands that first brought this vision to life. There is something profoundly special about knowing that the legacy of the “Jeppa train” will continue in the care of those who understand its story better than anyone.
The Chamber extends its sincere thanks to the many volunteers, operators, and supporters who have contributed to the journey of the Mirror Lake Express over the years. Their dedication ensured the train was not only maintained, but truly cherished.
While this chapter concludes for the Chamber, our commitment to the Camrose region remains strong. We will continue to focus on advocacy, connection, and creating meaningful opportunities that support and strengthen our business community.
