Hosted by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, this mission is focused on the next phase of the Canada-U.S. trading relationship, and the future of the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA). At a moment when U.S. tariffs and other unilateral trade actions are reshaping North American trading relations and the global trading order more broadly, this mission will bring a delegation of Canadian business leaders to Washington D.C. at a critical juncture. Â
The mission will provide a platform for participating delegates to inform discussions related to the 2026 CUSMA Review, advance Canadian business priorities in Washington D.C., and gain critical insights from experts and government officials from across North America.Â
Key elements of this mission will include:Â
- The Future of the CUSMA and the Canada-U.S. trade Relationship: explore what’s at stake in the 2026 CUSMA Review – including in relation to USTR’s upcoming domestic consultation on CUSMA – and how the three countries can modernize the agreement to support innovation, climate goals, and inclusive growth.Â
- Strengthening Bilateral Supply Chains and Industrial Resilience: identify next steps for cross-border collaboration in critical sectors such as energy, e-commerce, advanced manufacturing, and clean technology.Â
- Translating Policy into Action:Â engage with U.S. officials, think tanks, and industry leaders on how to ensure the updated agreement delivers real value for businesses on both sides of the border.Â
